The Town of Cross Roads is required to maintain certain information about residents with aerobic septic systems by the state of Texas.
The state requires all home owners with aerobic septic systems to retain and maintain a maintenance contract. The maintenance company will make quarterly inspections and file a report, with you the home owner and the Town of Cross Roads. The town is required to maintain a record of all inspections, and can be audited by the state to check for compliance. If the town's records are out of date, the town can be fined.
To help ensure the accuracy of this information, the town requires a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) upon the compelation of a new residence, or upon the sale of an existing residence. The local power utility will require the CO prior to connecting your service.
Usually the company that installed the aerobic septic system is retained as the maintenance provider. Some companies will only provide maintenance on systems they have installed, others will provide maintenance on an existing system. There is a small list of maintenance providers on the Services page.
